Other Work

Here are some examples of other works I have dabbled with. I have always admired Etchings, and have done a variety of them. Charcoal is an old medium for drawing, but I have enjoyed using it for negative drawings, where the paper is filled with charcoal and the light areas are removed with an eraser to create the image. I have not done much in the Abstract or Surreal area, but the Love Sick is an example of a Surreal idea painted with Acrylic.

Nude. 14″ W x 20″ H. Pastel

This began as a sketch in a life study. After adding colour it proved to be more than a sketch and is now in a private collection as an example of an earlier work of mine.

Untitled Etching

This figure represents a lost soul reaching out to see if there is someone there to reach in. It is inspired from personal experience, and views of homeless men living in London. The etching of figures is inspired by William Blake.

Charcoal Nude

This is an example of a negative drawing. The light on the model makes it easy. This was done in an evening class in NCAD. It was only after this picture was exhibited that I realised it was quite erotic. It is surprising what you can miss when you are drawing.

Price: Framed Euro 295

Love Sick.

This is a rough acrylic painting of an obsessed individual who is melted into the object of his desire, thereby loosing his identity and mind. The obsession has become a sickness.

Price: Framed Euro 195
